The regular schedule for City Commission meetings are the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Room at City Hall.
Items for a City Commission meeting need to be turned in to the Auditor's Office by 10:00 a.m. the Thursday before the meeting in order to placed on the agenda.
Water meters are usually located near the hot water heater. They are never located outside, although some meters still have outside reading devices.
Most City of Williston meters measure in cubic feet. A unit is 100 cubic feet, or approximately 750 gallons.
The discounted summer lawn rates take effect as soon as the meter is read in May and end when the meter is read in September. The months of January, February and March are used to establish an average of water usage for each meter. The discounted rates are applied to water used beyond that average for the July, August, September and October bills, which are for water used between the May meter read and the September meter read.
The largest variable on your water bill is the amount of water used. For most residential accounts, the amount of water used increases during the summer months because of lawn and garden watering. A running toilet increases water usage dramatically and cannot always be heard by the residents of the home.
