Court Appointed Attorney

Court Appointed Attorney

An attorney is not required for municipal court, however, if you feel you need an attorney, you may contact one at your own expense. If you feel you cannot afford an attorney, an application for court appointed counsel will need to be submitted. If you are found to be indigent,  a court appointed attorney will be granted for your case.  However, if at any time,  your financial status changes, you may be required to reimburse the court for the costs. The application can be picked up at the Williston Municipal Court office and will have to be discussed with the judge during any court session.  The judge will then determine if you meet the requirements.
