Chatter Pediatric Therapy to present at 1 Million Cups Meeting Feb. 7

katiekringen2A Williston entrepreneur and speech and language pathologist will share how she started her private practice at 1 Million Cups on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Katie Kringen, owner of Chatter Pediatric Therapy, saw her first patients in a make-shift office at her husband’s motorsports store.

“Only in Williston could you buy a four-wheeler and receive speech therapy in one building,” laughed Kringen.

Katie, a native of Bottineau, ND, received her Bachelor and Masters degrees in Speech & Language Pathology from Minot State University.

She and her husband Josh moved their young family to Williston in 2015 and began Chatter. Initially, Katie housed her practice at their Mondak Sports dealership.

Katie continued to work from Mondak Sports until she outgrew the space. In 2017, the Kringen’s purchased an office building located at the corner of University Avenue and Broadway. They received up to $72,000 from the Williston STAR Fund FLEX Pace interest buydown program to help purchase the site. The program helps make Williston a better place by helping new and existing businesses succeed. Currently Chatter employs 10 highly trained pediatric therapists.

“We are one of the most diversified private practices in North Dakota,” said Kringen. “We have evolved from a single therapist to a wide-ranging practice for our community.”

Chatter offers extensive services for children including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, feeding therapy, ABA therapy, child psychology and nutrition counseling. The clinic serves families from as far away as Dickinson, ND and Glendive, MT.

Katie and Josh have three children; Cruz (5 years), Piper (3 years) and Harlow (7 months).
