Be Prepared for Snow Season
In true North Dakota fashion (and DejaVu from last year), winter has made an early appearance! And while the snow from this round will disappear soon, now is a good time to review what this means for you in the coming weeks.
First and foremost, if you haven’t already, please remove all vehicles, trailers, boats, etc. from the street to assist with future snow removal efforts.
As a reminder, all trailers, boats, campers, etc. found parked on the street in designated emergency snow routes are subject to citation. If your vehicle is parked on a snow emergency route during a winter weather event it should be moved immediately.
Second, every snowfall is different so we ask for your patience and understanding knowing priorities will vary!
In the event of a major winter event, City of Williston Public Works will plow emergency through streets first, beginning with routes to the hospital and fire stations.
There are approximately 30 avenues and 25 streets that make up Williston’s emergency through streets. Public Works will prioritize highest traffic and population areas first.
Following emergency through streets, Public Works will haul snow from the downtown area, 11th Street, and Million Dollar Way. However, if heavy snow returns, the emergency through streets will become priority once again.
Please be aware, that snow emergency routes will be plowed or hauled after any single snow event with an accumulation of three inches or more.
If you have questions, please contact Public Works at 701.577.6368.
