Williston Fire Fighter receives Prestigious Scholarship
The Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC) announced that Williston Fire Department Captain Matthew Clark has been awarded a Worthington Scholarship. As a recipient of the Worthington Scholarship, Captain Clark is awarded the "Fire Officer" (FO) designation.
In addition, as a Worthington Scholarship recipient he will attend the 2018 Excellence Conference in Orlando, Florida in March. During the opening ceremonies of the 2018 CPSE Excellence Conference, Captain Clark will be recognized along with other Worthington Scholarship recipients. Each year, the CPSE brings the finest minds in the fire and emergency service together for a conference to advance agency accreditation, promote professional development, and encourage leadership.
Mike Worthington exemplified continuous improvement and always encouraged others to constantly grow and improve. It is an honor for Captain Clark to receive this prestigious scholarship and the Fire Officer designation, representing the Williston Fire Department on a national stage. It exemplifies the hard work and dedication that Captain Clark and all the men and women of the Williston Fire Department strive to achieve.
Captain Clark, who just returned from overseas active duty with the United States Air Force will begin his four-year Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy this month as well.
